I'm an Engineer working in Tyne and Wear, having moved from Belfast 3 years ago. Before the move I had never lived away from home and have had to work alot of things out for myself. I'm a big fan of Ice Hockey, in particular my team the Belfast Giants who I travel to see all over the UK. I also have a beautiful fiancee Victoria with whom I live in Gateshead. Between July 9th and August 20th 2004, Patrick Smyth and Claire McAllister will travel between Vancouver and Toronto on a whistle-stop tour of the Worlds 2nd biggest country.

Mallrats
The main attraction of Edmonton it seems is the mall. The West Edmonton Mall is one of the largest in the world. With a waterpark, pirate ship, theme park, international sized ice rink and hundreds upon hundreds of shops, it reall is sonething that takes a day to see.
Unfortunatly we didnt have a day and so we spent what time we did that day in the mall. having breakfast there and the walkin in and out of shops. Alberta has the lowest tax of all the states in Canada. So Claire and I took advantage of this with a few purchaces.
We then headed back to grab our bags and head to the train station for the shortest of our trips. The train to Winnipeg, Manitoba.
